Darryl Brooks Music Biography

Darryl Brooks, a native of Syracuse, NY who currently resides in the Rochester NY region, is a professional vocalist. Darryl has been performing for more than 40 years. He has performed on local, regional & national venues at resort hotels, conventions centers, festivals, fundraisers, The NYS State Fair and private events along the east coast including Lake Placid, NY, Burlington, Vermont, Ocean City, Maryland and Miami, Florida.

Darryl skillfully employs the varied styles of artist like Charlie Wilson, Frankie Beverly, The Beatles, Kem, Sam Smith, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Ed Sheeran, Luther Vandross, Chris Stapleton and many more. With an unforgettable, soul-stirring performance of musical medleys and renditions, Darryl thrills audiences with his well-blended musical repertoire. Darryl also performs Jazz Classics made popular by Johnny Mathis, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Billy Eckstein & others.

In addition, Darryl Brooks has performed at the New York State Fair on the Chevy Court & Empire Experience stages as an opener for national acts and numerous special events & festivals in Central, Upstate and Western New York.

Darryl has performed as the front man with several popular local & regional bands within the Rochester & Syracuse regions. Darryl has also performed as a background singer for Gospel artist such as The Sounds of Praise, Yolanda Adams & Daryl Coley. Darryl is currently performing as a solo act and sometimes under the stage moniker of Darryl Brooks & Friends. Several friends back him up with their great musicianship as they perform throughout Central & Western New York.
